On Friday my brother and I decided to run away from the chaos that is my kitchen refit and go for a short walk in the local bluebell woods.
The weather was perfect and because we went on the Friday there were only a few people around.
We found a wonderful little dell, full of wild garlic surrounded by bluebells.
I love close-ups of allium flowers.
I couldn’t resist the play of light through the young leaves of sycamore and oak trees.
An obligatory attempt at a bracken macro. Not the best I’ve ever seen but I’m reasonably pleased with the overall effect.
It was great to escape from the house for an hour or so in the sunshine and listen to the woodpeckers and other birds. I got so distracted by how nice it was that I didn’t notice myself overdoing things, hence the delay in posting this. Oh well, it was worth it I think.

More bluebell pics! I’ve got some on my blog and just been looking at the ones on Alison’s blog too - they really are spectacular this year aren’t they?
What a gorgeous set of photos - I’ve been to the woods again today and your pics really capture the spirit of nature - just lovely!

What beautiful, gorgeous pictures! Love the leafy one’s too and the bracken - great stuff.
[...] other news, Doreen has created a lovely piece of embellished felt from my photo of the bluebell woods which has reminded me that I still haven’t posted any pictures of the ATCs which I sent her. [...]
