I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I am going to be a rather sporadic blog writer, so many thanks in advance to anyone who is still reading
I noticed that I need to catch up with posting some photos that I have mentioned in previous posts, so here goes.
First of [...]

I’ve been bad and not updated for so long I think I shall just draw a line under last year and start again (actually that’s not a bad idea in oh so many ways…) If anyone really wants to know I can do a précis of events but I will leave it for now. At [...]

Oh dear, I hadn’t realised it had been so long since I updated here. Lots has happened in the last month so I will try and keep it (relatively) brief.
Soon after my last post I went on a trip with a local history group down to the Warner Textiles Archives in Braintree, Essex. If you’re [...]

Apologies for the long absence. I’ve been somewhat under the weather lately and that combined with having piles of tedious not stitch related stuff to do has left me without time/inclination to update. However in my usual way there will probably be loads of posts over the next few days.
One warning in advance, people with [...]

Today is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale. In later life she is believed to have suffered from ME/CFS hence the adoption of her birthday as the international day of awareness.
If you don’t know much about ME/CFS take a moment today to read a bit about it, either from the links to Wikipedia [...]

This morning I was officially diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, sometimes known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Encephalopathy. Things have been pretty bad for me since I had a nasty flu-like viral infection several months ago.
I am fairly lucky in some respects as there are few days when I am so wiped out that I [...]

So, what started me on my creative journey?
A few years ago (2002) I got very sick with some random nasty virus that completely flattened me (probably something related to glandular fever/mono but blood tests didn’t show what). During my slow recovery two things kept me going. The first was that shortly before [...]

Hello.
This blog is in the process of being set up. It is planned that it will be a place for me to record my explorations of various art forms, currently mostly fibre based. It will also include random musings and bits and pieces of interest that I find on my ramblings around the internet as [...]
